Perfumed oils have been used as an aid to magic throughout history. It was an ancient belief that odors affected both the natural and the supernatural. Aromatic oils which have been used for Ceremonial and sacred purposes have their origins among the Hebrews, Egyptians and early Greeks and Romans. Magicians of ancient times anointed their bodies with oils to heighten the senses or induce visions, for purification or as offerings to deities. The use of odors as psychological stimulants is well established and used today in perfumes as people are sensitive to the vibrations of certain odors, which can arouse hidden desires. In the Craft, essential oils and blends are used to anoint yourself and others, to anoint candles, talismans and seals for many purposes as to heighten and intensify any spell being done. After the name of each of our oils (which are blended according to ancient rituals and tradition) we give you a suggested use. Each of our oils contains bits of herbs, flowers or bark to enhance their virtues. |
Be sure to store your oils in a cool dark place. Extreme light and heat will damage your oil.
